PRIMARY – MAY 19, 2020 • GENERAL ELECTION – NOVEMBER 3, 2020
MILITARY VETERAN. EDUCATOR. BUSINESSMAN. LEADER.
There is a tremendous turnover in local government leadership. It’s exciting to see a lot of new faces and it’s also vitally important to have people with proven, positive experience.
That’s why Billy Hair is running for Chatham County Commission Chairman. A decorated military veteran, educator, small business owner, and community volunteer, he has what it takes to work together and successfully lead Chatham County.
A MESSAGE FROM BILLY
We need to work together to control revenue and reduce the tax burden on citizens without sacrificing important services. Chatham County is like a large company with 1,600 employees, a $230 million annual budget, and a responsibility to serve a diverse and growing population.
One of my top priorities is to give Chatham County property owners some relief. Property tax increases are pushing many young families, single parent homeowners, and the elderly out of their homes. We can fix this problem by taking the right actions.
With more than 40 percent of Chatham County residents in the military, I understand first-hand the issues that they face while on active duty and when they retire. My military experience, educational leadership, work with small businesses, and collaboration skills have prepared me to be Chatham County Commission Chairman and address these issues.
